From climate emergency to food security, the way we farm is key to solving some of the biggest issues facing us today.
The overall climate varies from semi arid to sub humid with hot summer, cool and dry winter and 600-1000 mm mean rainfall. The geographical area of the state under the jurisdiction of university contains three types of soils varying from alluvial to medium and heavy black soils spread over six agro climatic zones i.e. Gird Zone, Malwa Plateau, Nimar Valley, Vindhya Plateau, Jhabua Hills and Bundelkhand Zone...
To serve as a centre of higher education in the field of agriculture and allied sciences;
To conduct basic, strategic, applied and anticipatory research in the field of agriculture and allied sciences
To disseminate technology to farmers, extension personnel and organizations engaged in agricultural development through various extension programs.
To produce and supply of genuine and quality seeds/ planting materials to the farmers.
After admission, students are assigned to teachers for counselling and guidance. Orientation Programme is organized in each College. Semester Progress report of every student is sent to their parents by advisors. Students’ advisement for foreign study and scholarship is provided. The University has a Placement Cell under the Dean Student Welfare to arrange for campus interviews and counsel students on scholarships, higher studies and career opportunities.
The Placement Cell has been successfully organizing campus interviews and seminars on carrier opportunities.
